  • What is the milk bottle wash plant?

    In May 2009, Comspec installed New Zealand's first HDPE Milk Bottle Wash Plant. This plant processes up to 100,000 milk bottles daily, converting them into clean, dry, flaked HDPE, which is then used to produce customised HDPE resin for various applications.   • How does Comspec handle collection, storage, and delivery of scrap plastic?

    Comspec uses their own Hino truck to collect scrap plastic from local manufacturers. They provide timber bins for loading the scrap and offer weights of each pick-up, along with a monthly Scrap Collection Summary.   • What are Comspec's packaging and shipping capabilities?

    Recycled resins can be packed into 25kg bags or 1-tonne bulk bags. Comspec also handles containers for export and import and holds MAF accreditation as a transition facility.

    In 2010, Comspec was awarded the Environmental Achievement award at the New Zealand Plastics Industry Design Awards for their milk bottle wash plant.
