In May 2009, Comspec installed New Zealand's first HDPE Milk Bottle Wash Plant. This plant processes up to 100,000 milk bottles daily, converting them into clean, dry, flaked HDPE, which is then used to produce customised HDPE resin for various applications. Recycled resins can be packed into 25kg bags or 1-tonne bulk bags. Comspec also handles containers for export and import and holds MAF accreditation as a transition facility.
