Robert started his career in the plastics industry with NZ's first recycling company 32 years ago. He was one of the founding members of NZ's largest plastics recycling company, and was General Manager for 25 years. Over that period, he grew this business from zero to $38million per annum with operations in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch, and two sheet extrusion plants - in Melbourne and Auckland.
His experience in the plastics industry covers a wide range of processing disciplines and a vast knowledge of plastics raw materials. With the sale of his previous company to a consortium buy-out it was time to return to NZ to team up with three other Shareholders to start Comspec, bringing a new style and focus to servicing the plastics industry in Christchurch.
Robert has seen the opportunities to grow Comspec to become a leader in the recycling industry, and with other projects on the drawing board will see Comspec double in size in the next two years.
Stephanie joins Robert in the day to day running of Comspec, and in many cases is the first contact for many of our clients. Her role sees her managing all the office and financial aspects of the business. She has had substantial experience in the banking industry, both in Wellington and Auckland and for some time in Brokering and Business Finance.
Stephanie has also owned and operated a successful high tech ceramics coating business in Auckland dealing with Industrial, Aerospace and Automotive coatings.
Her plastics career started in Melbourne in one of Robert's sheet extrusion plants where she managed all the office activities and export business, including the USA. Again, once the business was sold, she accompanied Robert back to NZ to assist in the starting up of Comspec.
